Mother's Day is nice. Although, as our pastor said yesterday, that we go to church Mother's Day morning expecting to be congratulated and patted on the back for all the great things we do as mothers...for all the ways that we make sure that everthing is "perfect" for our kids. And different than our own upbringings in all the right ways. We read all the right books, feed them the right diets, educate them right, keep them protected from all things harmful...only to find out that what we really need that day is to fall on our faces at the foot of the cross--again. And actually, so do our children. Which can be an even more painful reality. (This isn't a direct quote, of course).
Anyway, so Mother's Day was nice. On Saturday, Hunter and I went to spend some time with my mom. We went out to eat and went shopping. Hunter is getting to be one of the "big girls" (in a good way), which is fun. On Saturday night, we went out to eat and just hung out and relaxed on Sunday. It was all good. Just chillin' with the fam is the best way to spend MoDay for me.
These are a couple of pics with my mom (aka Zsa Zsa).
